Main Features
Onboarding Users
The app caters to two distinct user groups: fans and creators. During the onboarding process, users are presented with clear options to sign in as either a fan or a creator, each represented by engaging visuals that align with Web3. The use of world illustrations effectively captures the essence of both the "fan verse" and "creator verse", providing a visually appealing and immersive experience for users as they navigate the platform.
Wallet Feature
The wallet feature offers a secure and convenient way to manage finances within the app. Users can deposit/withdraw USD, make in-app purchases (tokens, subscriptions, merchandise, tickets), and view transaction history. This integrated payment experience simplifies supporting favorite creators and accessing exclusive content.
Marketplace
The in-app marketplace enables users to browse, discover, and explore creator tokens, with features to check token rates and performance. Users can make informed purchasing or swapping decisions, gaining valuable insights into token value and potential. The marketplace facilitates seamless transactions, fostering engagement and support between creators and fans.
Subscription
The subscription feature offers exclusive benefits to users, including premium updates, limited-edition merchandise, giveaways, and personalized calls from their favorite creators. Subscribers also receive exclusive content, fostering a deeper connection and sense of community. This feature enhances the user experience, encouraging engagement and loyalty.
Approach To Creating the Solution
Research and Understanding the Problem
The research explored Web 3 products, uncovering user expectations and industry best practices. A comprehensive analysis of leading platforms like Binance, OpenSea, and Bitmama, combined with a survey of Nigerian users, revealed significant insights. The study identified a notable gap in the market: a lack of inclusive and engaging platforms accessible to all users, regardless of gender or Web 3 expertise. Furthermore, existing platforms were criticized for their complex interfaces and ambiance.
The findings emphasized the need for a user-friendly and visually appealing platform. Guided by these insights, my goal was to create a platform that prioritizes seamless user experiences, visual appeal, and inclusivity, making it accessible to a diverse range of users.
Design Driven Ideas
The traditional like and share buttons felt outdated and lacked the excitement of Web 3. To address this, the design solution was to replace the conventional engagement buttons with unique and engaging features.
The new design introduced "Claps" and "Screams" buttons, bringing a fresh and distinctive twist to user interaction. Aligning with the Web 3 aesthetic, the design incorporates dark mode and engagement changes. Although stakeholders requested revisions to the initial layout proposal, the goal remained to design a unique experience that resonates with Web 3 enthusiasts and users seeking excitement.
Challenge
The main obstacle I encountered was achieving a balance between simplicity and complexity, ensuring the app's accessibility for both Web 3 experts and newcomers. As the industry was relatively new to me, I had to conduct thorough research, analyze competitors, and scrutinize user survey results to gain a deeper understanding.
Another significant challenge was navigating the technical constraints of animation implementation. Due to time limitations, hardcoding animations wasn't feasible, so I explored alternative solutions and successfully converted them into GIFs for seamless integration. Furthermore, I carefully refined the animations, eliminating unnecessary ones to prevent slow page loading and maintain a smooth user experience
Result & Impact
The product's second version launched successfully across web, IOS, and Android, leading to a 20% boost in top creator partnerships. By working together to identify and address areas for improvement, we implemented effective solutions that drove product growth and success, resulting in an enhanced product experience.
