Backstory
Mastercard Nigeria launched an innovative promotional campaign called Spend N Win to reward its customers and encourage increased engagement. The campaign centered around a fun, interactive online game that could be played at Mastercard booths in 11 malls and supermarkets across Nigeria. The game offered exciting prizes, including an all-expense-paid trip to watch the UEFA Champions League in Istanbul. Our team designed and developed this immersive gaming application to provide a delightful and engaging experience for diverse users, fostering brand loyalty and creating a memorable experience for Mastercard customers.

Main Features
Onboarding Users
The onboarding process was optimized for a seamless and efficient user experience, allowing users to quickly sign up and start playing the game without encountering any obstacles. To prevent confusion, the process is straightforward and limited to one game per registered email address. Clear instructions are provided to guide users through the requirements and rules, ensuring they understand how to play and win.
Game Interface
As users select their answers from the available options, a countdown timer simultaneously ticks away, adding an element of time pressure to the process.
Admin Panel
This web app enables shop attendants and on-site Mastercard representatives to log in, select their store location, and facilitate gift redemption for customers with a score above zero. Through the admin panel, they can update customer status and award gifts to winners, ensuring a seamless redemption process.
Super Admin Panel
This grants top-level administrative access to manage the campaign across all locations, providing a bird's eye view of customer engagement, game participation, and reward redemption. It enables tracking of customers who have played the game, those who have received their gifts, and those who haven't, all in one place.
Approach To Creating The Solution
Research and Defining the Architecture
Given the product's focus on simplicity and fun, and the tight deadline, a concise research phase focused on creating a seamless user experience. The design approach was direct and to the point, with a straightforward architecture that guided the user from authentication to game completion, ensuring an efficient and engaging journey.
Result & Impact
In just six short weeks, the product achieved remarkable success, activating over 45,000 participants! Our admin and super admin panels provided a seamless way to track player progress, efficiently identifying participants eligible for gifts. The process was streamlined, quick, and easy, thanks to Mastercard's on-site support, which ensured timely gift redemption at the malls.
Final Thoughts
Contributing to this product was a rewarding experience that offered valuable growth opportunities. With a tight deadline, I learned to prioritize tasks and work efficiently. I also developed a greater appreciation for user-centered design and gained insight into the development process, allowing me to better empathize with the team's efforts.
